About the Role\n\nWe are currently seeking a skilled Shift Technician to join a site-based engineering team at a high-profile commercial building in Central London. This role involves the maintenance, repair, and monitoring of building Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems, ensuring smooth and safe operation of all plant and equipment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building M&E systems\n\n * Electrical works\n\n * Monitor and operate BMS systems, including adjusting setpoints and identifying faults\n\n * Perform mechanical and plumbing repairs\n\n * Maintain and repair plant equipment including AHUs and FCUs\n\n * Replace and maintain motors, pumps, and inverter drives\n\n * Carry out water treatment tasks (sampling and dosing)\n\n * Assist with sprinkler testing and fire alarm awareness\n\n * Conduct minor fabric maintenance and general site upkeep\n\n * Read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics\n\n * Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental procedures at all times\n\nSkills & Experience Required\n\n * Proven experience in M&E maintenance within commercial buildings\n\n * Strong electrical competency (testing, fault finding, installation)\n\n * Good mechanical and plumbing knowledge\n\n * Familiarity with BMS systems and plant equipment\n\n * Ability to read and understand technical drawings\n\n * Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, mobile devices, tablets)\n\n * Strong communication skills (written and verbal)\n\n * Excellent timekeeping and reliability\n\n * Ability to work independently on day and night shifts\n\nWorking Hours & Pattern\n\n * Continental shift pattern:\n\n * 3 days on / 3 nights on / 5 days off / 3 nights on / 4 days off\n\n * Day shift: 07:00 – 19:00\n\n * Night shift: 19:00 – 07:00\n\n * Must be flexible to work weekends and bank holidays as part of the rota
